International Injustice: Man Sent to Prison for 25yrs over Facebook Post


Today a Thai military court sentenced a man to prison for 25 years for posting pictures on his Facebook page deemed insulting to Thailand’s monarchy. In a closed-door court sentencing, Tiensutham Suttijitseranee, a 58-year-old businessman, was found guilty of posting defamatory content.

New DNA Evidence Frees Woman After 35-years in Prison



When she was just 29-years-old, Cathy Woods (above, now 64) was convicted of stabbing 19-year-old nursing student, Michelle Mitchell, to death on the edge of the University of Nevada campus in 1976. But in September of 2014, Washoe District Judge, Patrick Flanagan, ordered Woods to appear at a retrial July 13, 2015. However, Washoe County District Attorney, Chris Hicks, told a news conference that he’s filing a motion to dismiss the case. “It is our belief that the newly discovered DNA evidence and the continued investigation of this case exonerate Cathy Woods of the murder of Michelle Mitchell,” Hicks said.

Jodi Arias Dodges a Bullet, Literally, as Judge Declares Mistrial


Travis Alexander’s sisters sobbed in the background as Maricopa County Superior Court Judge, Sherry K. Stephens, made the announcement this morning that the judge could not reach a unanimous decision on whether or not to sentence convicted killer, Jodi Arias, to death. Judge Stephens stated that the jurors repeatedly indicated they could not reach consensus (hung jury). This verdict comes after the second jury considered her case because the first jury, which convicted her of murder two years ago, could not agree on whether or not to sentence her to death.

“Friend” Charged in 2002 Cold Case Murder of 15-year-old in CA


Twelve years after the body of 15-year-old Brenda Sierra (above) was discovered in San Bernardino, California, authorities arrested Rosemary Chavira, 27 (who was a “friend” of Brenda’s) near her home in Lancaster and ordered her jailed without bail Tuesday in connection with the murder.
